Tour Stop: Humboldt, CA

The heart of California’s Redwood Coast, Humboldt County is 275 miles north of San Francisco and 400 miles south of Portland. Nestled between ancient redwood giants and lush coastal wetlands, the county’s unique, welcoming towns serve as a beacon for touring bands. Jazz, blues, and folk have strong roots in the area and Humboldt brand hip-hop is on the rise. Humboldt State University in Arcata is especially active in the Northern California art and music scene. In April, HSU students host the annual Sustainable Living, Arts & Music Festival (SLAMfest), a zero-waste event powered entirely by solar energy and bio-diesel. The county is also home to the largest reggae festival in the West, Reggae on the River. The all-ages Bummerfest, celebrating the end of summer
