KRK Rokit Studio Monitors

KRK Systems has released the second generation of their popular Rokit monitor system. The new model incorporates several features of their VXT and E8B lines and offers a new sleeker look, which is both stylish and functional. The new design, which includes a molded front baffle, was created to eliminate diffraction distortion caused by standard flat baffles, increase the speakers’ “sweet spot” for optimal

listening and minimize low frequency phase distortion. The new Rokit G2s have a MAP price of $149, $199 and $249 for the 5, 6 and 8 inch versions, respectively.

Peterson’s BodyBeat metronome produces a pulsing vibration allowing musicians to easily feel the beat when trying to keep time. The BodyBeat clips onto the belt line while a separate “vibe clip” component transmits a pulse (including subdivisions and accents) directly to the user. Digidesign Transfuser Preview

Digidesign recently introduced the Transfuser Preview, a free three-month prerelease version of Transfuser, a new upcoming RTAS® virtual instrument plug-in for ProTools. The program allows the user to generate a real-time loop, phrase and groove virtual instrument that can be used for easily creating, manipulating and performing loopand rhythm-based music on the fly within ProTools. In addition, you can modify and experiment with existing loop libraries, allowing you to put your own spin on other people’s work. The program will work for three months, fully functional, giving all ProTools users the chance to experience the capabilities of the Transfuser.
